EAGLEHAWK faces a huge test against Kangaroo Flat in Saturday’s third round of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL A-grade netball season.

The Janelle Hobbs-coached Hawks mark a hat-trick of home-court matches at C & M Oval in Canterbury Park as they take on the Kangaroos from 2.30pm.

A one-one record has the Hawks perched on the fourth rung.

Eaglehawk scored a 33-goal win against Golden Square last Saturday.

It was a strong response from the Two Blues after their defeat to Sandhurst on Easter Saturday.

For Hobbs its another rematch against a club where she previously coached and led to premiership success.

Kangaroo Flat has bounced to big wins in the opening two rounds.

The Jayden Cowling-coached Roos won last Saturday’s home game against Castlemaine at Dower Park by 79 goals.

First of Saturday’s matches in A-grade will be Broadford against Golden Square at Broadford’s Harley Hammond Reserve from 2pm.

It’s been a tough run for the Jaimie Hooper-coached Broadford which has faced last season’s finalists in South Bendigo at home and Sandhurst at Queen Elizabeth Oval so far.

The Kangaroos meet an opponent on the rebound from defeat.

The Teigan Redwood-coached Golden Square won at Castlemaine on Good Friday but were outplayed on Eaglehawk’s court.

Gisborne will be back home at Melbourne North Truck Centre Oval in Gardiner Reserve to play Strathfieldsaye from 2.30pm.

The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne netted a 47-40 victory against South Bendigo at Kennington’s Harry Trott Oval last Saturday.

As the Bulldogs took the points it was a rest for the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye which had the bye.

Storm played South Bendigo at Triple M Park on Good Friday.

A top contest ended in a 44-42 win for the Bloods.

Castlemaine will be back on its court at The Railway Hotel Oval in Camp Reserve to play South Bendigo from 3.20pm.

The Vanessa Saunders-coached Magpies were outpointed by the powerful Kangaroo Flat last round.

A South Bendigo line-up coached by Lauren Bowles takes a two-one record into this contest.

Sandhurst has the bye.
