ROUND 15 NETBALL REVIEW | Top three net big victories

THE A-grade competition’s top three all recorded big wins in Saturday’s round 15 action in Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL netball.
At Gisborne’s Gardiner Reserve the Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne led 11-7 at quarter-time against Strathfieldsaye.
The Bulldogs then dominated the second as they scored 14 goals and kept Storm to a goal.
A 17-goal buffer for Gisborne at the long break became 27 at a quarter to play.
It was a ruthless performance by the premier of the past two seasons as Gisborne charged to a 58-17 win against the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye.
The Gisborne line-up will make its way to Queen Elizabeth Oval this Saturday to take on Sandhurst in the 16th and final round in the home-and-away series.
Storm will play Golden Square at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane next Saturday.
Kangaroo Flat dominated its showdown with Eaglehawk on the Kangaroos’ court in Dower Park.
Unbeaten in ’25 the Jayden Cowling-coached Kangaroo Flat won 94-28 against the Hawks.
Was a tough afternoon for the Jannelle Hobbs-coached Eaglehawk which has a rest next Saturday because it’s drawn to play Castlemaine and will then meet South Bendigo in the August 31 elimination final.
Sandhurst achieved double figure goal tallies in every quarter of its match on Golden Square’s court in Wade Street.
The Tamara Gilchrist-coached Sandhurst led 19-8 at quarter-time and 43-13 by the main break.
Pressure and capitalising on goalscoring chances did not let up in the second half as Sandhurst won the third term, 17-11.
Quarter four was to the maroon and blue’s most dominant as Sandhurst poured in 21 goals and kept the blue and gold to tally of four.
At the final siren Sandhurst led 81-28.
Sandhurst will warm up for the finals by taking on Gisborne next Saturday at the QEO.
The Teigan Redwood-coached Golden Square will close out its season on Strathfieldsaye’s court at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.
It was a rest for South Bendigo in A-grade, but the Bloods did play Castlemaine in all other grades on the Magpies’ courts at Camp Reserve.
The Lauren Bowles-coached South Bendigo will warm up for the finals by playing Kangaroo Flat at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington’s Neale Street next Saturday.

It’s a qualifhing final prelude as Sandhurst takes on Gisborne at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
South Bendigo faces a huge task against the unbeaten Kangaroo Flat at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington’s Neale Street.
Strathfieldsaye and Golden Square will clash in Storm territory at Triple M Park in Strathfieldsaye’s Tannery Lane.
It’s a bye for Eaglehawk in A-grade, but the Borough will play Castlemaine in all other netball grades at Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.
