A FRIDAY night showdown between Kangaroo Flat and Sandhurst tips off this weekend’s 11th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.

The Kangaroos will be on their court in Dower Park for a 6.30pm showdown with the Dragons.

Both teams are in great form.

It’s been a rest for the Jayden Cowling-coached Kangaroo Flat which had the bye last Saturday.

In the ninth round the Kangaroos marked their eighth consecutive victory in a 74-33 result at home against Eaglehawk.

When the Roos and Dragons met in round four it was Kangaroo Flat which won 64-54 at Queen Elizabeth Oval.

The Tamara Gilchrist-coached Sandhurst goes into this match on a win-loss tally of seven-one and in second place on the ladder.

Sandhurst took on Golden Square on Ron Best Memorial Cup day at the QEO last Saturday.

The Dragons won every quarter in a 69-27 victory.

Pressure from the Kangaroos in all thirds of the court will be markedly higher.

Gisborne will be back on its court at Gardiner Reserve for Saturday’s clash with Eaglehawk from 2.30pm.

The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne teamed superbly to net a 58-27 win on Strathfieldsaye’s court at Triple M Park last Saturday.

In round four Gisborne won at Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park by 16 goals.

The Jannelle Hobbs-coached Eaglehawk will be keen to bounce back after a 58-53 loss at home to South Bendigo.

A record of three wins, five defeats and a draw has the Hawks perched on the fifth rung, but 10 points clear of sixth-placed Golden Square.

Golden Square will face Strathfieldsaye on the Bulldogs’ court in Golden Square’s Wade Street from 3.20pm.

Both teams are on the rebound from defeat.

The Teigan Redwood-coached Golden Square played well at home to  beat South Bendigo by five goals in the sixth round.

Earlier this season it was the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye which claimed a 48-43 win against Golden Square in Storm territory at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.

The Bulldogs and Storm will be desperate to achieve a second victory.

It’s a bye for South Bendigo in A-grade, but the Bloods will face Castlemaine in all other grades of netball at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington’s Neale Street.
