The Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL), is excited to announce that a 15 & Under Netball competition will be introduced from the 2026 season, strengthening the league’s commitment to developing young talent and providing more opportunities for aspiring players to play at Major League level.

The new age group will create a clear talent pathway for junior athletes, helping to better align major league senior & junior netball with grassroots junior netball.

BFNL General Manager, Tom King said the addition of the 15 & Under competition was a significant step in enhancing the league’s player development framework.

“We’ve listened to feedback from our clubs and the wider netball community, and there’s a clear demand for more competition options in this age bracket within a Major League setting,” King said.

“Introducing the 15 & Under competition will not only give more young players the chance to play more netball, it will help our BFNL Clubs to retain talented athletes in our region by providing a stronger, more consistent talent pathway.”

The new BFNL 15 & Under competition will be closely aligned to the Central Victoria Netball Association’s (CVNA) new Premier Competition which will be played on Wednesday nights.

These additions to the BFNL & CVNA competition structures allow for better collaboration between existing senior and junior fixtures, with all BFNL clubs invited to field a team in the BFNL 15 & Under competition in 2026 while also competing with the CVNA’s new Premier competition

Further details on competition structure, player eligibility, and registration timelines will be released to clubs and the public in the coming months.
