The BFNL is pleased to announce the host venues for Week 1 of the 2026 BFNL Finals Series, as the BFNL trials club-hosted Finals for the first time in over 20 years.
The 2026 finals series will commence on Saturday 29 August with the Qualifying Final at Harry Trott Oval, proudly hosted by South Bendigo Football Netball Club. The opening weekend will continue Sunday 30 August, with the Elimination Final to be played at Tannery Lane Recreation Reserve, hosted by Strathfieldsaye Football Netball Club.
The action then moves to the Queen Elizabeth Oval (QEO), which will host Weeks 2-4 of the finals series, including the 1st and 2nd Semi Finals, the Preliminary Final, culminating in the 2026 BFNL Grand Final on Saturday 19 September.
BFNL Manager Tom King said the Week 1 finals schedule provides an exciting opportunity to celebrate Clubs facilities and volunteers.
"Our finals series is the pinnacle of every BFNL season and we're pleased to be taking finals football and netball to Harry Trott Oval and Tannery Lane in the opening week before returning to the premier facility in Central Victoria, the Queen Elizabeth Oval for the final three weeks of the series."
The trial of Club-hosted finals will allow the League to assess the operational, financial and spectator benefits of a rotational system for club-hosted finals and gather feedback from participating clubs, supporters, officials and stakeholders before considering any future long-term implementation.
The BFNL Board thank South Bendigo FNC and Strathfieldsaye FNC for working collaboratively with the League as pioneers for this initiative.
