The Bendigo Football Netball League together with Under 18’s Head Coach, Jason Stevens, are excited to announce its 26-player Under 18 Interleague Squad ahead of the upcoming representative clash against the Ovens & Murray FNL at the QEO this Saturday 23 May.

The squad features players from all nine BFNL Clubs and includes the best performers from our Under 18 competition along with players that are playing regular senior football.

Head Coach, Jason Stevens said “selecting 26 players from the depth of talent across the competition has been an incredibly challenging task and there will no doubt be some disappointed players who narrowly missed selection.”

Stevens added “our final 22 is not yet locked in, with the coaching group to confirm the final team composition by the middle of this week, but we are confident the side that takes the field on Saturday will represent the Bendigo FNL exceptionally.”

“It is a huge privilege to pull on a Bendigo jumper and many players within this squad will go on to become elite footballers within the senior competition in future years. The coaching staff would also like to sincerely thank all clubs for nominating players and supporting the program, along with the players themselves for their commitment and effort throughout the training campaign, added Stevens”

Ahead of next Saturday’s match day, a final 22-player + 3 emergency team will be announced along with the squad’s leadership group.

The team will continue preparations in the lead-up to matchday with two training sessions scheduled at the QEO on Tuesday 19 May and Thursday 21 May. The latter session will start from 6pm and will see all five BFNL representative squads train simultaneously in an open session with media and fans invited to attend and support the Blue & Gold.
