As part of our 2026 BFNL Rising Star Award presented by Bart n Print, we are going through each Club's nominees and next is Eaglehawk FNC.

The Two-Blues have nominated James Coates-Moore as their football nominee and Charlise McQueen & Imogen Brown as their netballers. 

Charlise McQueen

Charlise has developed into one of Eaglehawk's most versatile and dependable young players, with the ability to excel in any position across the court.

Renowned for her grit, determination and willingness to embrace every challenge, McQueen combines exceptional timing and game awareness to become a dominant force in defence while also providing invaluable flexibility to her team.

Her competitive spirit, athleticism and team-first approach have made her a standout performer and an exciting young talent to watch.

Charlise's development has been recognised through her runner-up finish in Eaglehawk's 2025 Under 17 Best and Fairest, selection in the 2025 Bendigo Academy of Sport Under 15 Squad, and most recently, inclusion in the 2026 Netball Victoria Under 17 Talent Pathway Squad—further highlighting her outstanding potential and bright future in the game.

Imogen Brown

Imogen has emerged as one of Eaglehawk's most exciting young midcourters, using her speed, vision and exceptional ball use to drive her team's attacking play.

A dominant Wing Attack, Brown controls the tempo from centre passes with powerful leads, pinpoint passing and an instinctive ability to read the game, consistently creating opportunities for her teammates.

Her composure, decision-making and work rate make her an influential presence through the midcourt, while her natural game awareness allows her to stay one step ahead of the opposition.

Imogen's talent has been recognised through selection in the 2026 Catherine McAuley College National Team, as well as the 2026 School Sport Victoria and Netball Victoria Intermediate Team, highlighting her continued development and exciting future in the sport.

James Coates-Moore

 

James has established himself as an exciting young talent at Eaglehawk, becoming a regular member of the club's senior side through his pace, skill and composure with ball in hand.

A running half back, Coates-Moore uses his speed to break lines and his precise kicking to launch attacking chains from defence, making him an important link in transition.

His ability to consistently make good decisions under pressure has seen him adapt seamlessly to senior football while continuing to develop his game. James' potential has also been recognised through selection in the 2025 Bendigo Pioneers training squad and the 2025 BFNL Under 19 Interleague squad, highlighting his continued growth and bright future within the game.
