It was a red letter day in the annals of Golden Square Football Netball Club when a quiet and unobtrusive young fella hailing from Cohuna followed his brother to Golden Square. Coming to the club with little fanfare, Clayton has most definately made an impact around the club both on and off the field. Saturday's game against South Bendigo will see Anderson play his 200th game.
Clayton plays the game with an iron willed determination to complement his well honed skills and acute football brain. It has been a long journey for Clayton to reach his milestone, with countless injuries almost ending his career midway through his tenure at Square.
Clayton has fought back from such adversities to become an extremely decorated player with senior premierships in 2011, 2012, 2013, missing 2009 & 2010 due to injury, representing the BFNL Interleague team on five occassions incorporating a Derrick Filo medal on one of those occassions.
Clayton is strongly supported by his wife Georgia who is also an integral part of the clubs netball division. We wish Clayton all the best in his 200th Game.
Golden Square will be holding a "Clayton Anderson Roast" this Saturday night at the GSFNC Social Club begining at 8.00pm.
