KANGAROO Flat jumped to third on the A-grade netball ladder after Saturday’s big win against Castlemaine in round 14 of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.

The Jayden Cowling-coached Kangaroos were in hot form on their court at Dower Park.

Earlier in the season it was Castlemaine which dominated most of the contest on its court at Camp Reserve.

This time the Roos bounded their way to a 62-39 victory against the Fiona Fowler and Gary Cooke-coached Castlemaine.

Sandhurst’s unbeaten run kept rolling.

For the first time in a long time, Sandhurst was down at quarter-time as South Bendigo led 16-14 at the first break at Queen Elizabeth Oval.

The Tamara Gilchrist-coached Dragons fired up to win the second term, 21-4.

From there it was Sandhurst which controlled play in all thirds of the court.

The maroon and blue won the third quarter, 21-6, and the last, 24-5.

At the final whistle Sandhurst led 80-31 against the Jannelle Hobbs-coached South Bendigo.

Eaglehawk and Strathfieldsaye played out a great match on the Hawks’ court at Canterbury Park.

The Hawks led 21-20 at half-time, but Storm lifted to win the third, 33-31.

A two-goal buffer for the Steph Freemantle-coached Strathfieldsaye became four by the end as Storm claimed a 44-40 victory against the Kylie Piercy-coached Two Blues.

Nine goals separated Golden Square and Maryborough at Fur Life Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.

The Jordan Macilwain-coached Maryborough led 14-8 at quarter-time.

In the second it was the Benita Swatton-coached Golden Square which controlled a lot of the play.

A 13-9 quarter in favour of the blue and gold meant the Magpies led 23-21 at the long break.

Maryborough won the third, 13-6.

Both teams scored 13 goals in the last as the Magpies won 49-40.

Kyneton was up against the powerful Gisborne line-up at Kyneton Showgrounds.

The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne led 28-15 at half-time.

An 18-8 tally in the third put the Bulldogs well in control.

The Dianne Guest-Oakley coached Kyneton kept working hard, but the red, white and blue left Tigerland as 57-31 victors.
