NORTH CENTRAL STATE TITLES SELECTIONS
Approximately 15 umpires took the court last Monday as part of the North Central State Titles. The umpires received personalised coaching during play which is one of the best ways to learn and improve as an umpire. There was great conversation about rules and the opportunity to watch some of our best umpires and players in action. If you would like to be part of the action this Monday night please contact Kaye Wellington on 54479500 or http://66.29.206.247/_uploads/res/22_157704.pdf Remember help comes to those that help themselves.....

Umpires – where would we be without them?
As you know we have no games of our great game without our umpires. So for the month of May we are promoting our umpiring ranks, encouraging everyone to pick up the whistle (with a smile-even if at training) and show appreciation to the umpires who umpire your games.
Here are a few ways for us all to grow the standard of netball here in our region....
- Say thank you (no matter how good or bad the umpire was in your perspective) – they are out there having a go so say thanks at the end of the match
- Have you sat the theory exam in the last 6 years – remember it is free and online via Netball Vic website so give it a go – any age!
- Have a question ready for the Umpire Mentor when they are present at BFNL games over this month
Congratulations to the following;
- LVNA for hosting a rules evening with the amazing Ann Castles during May
- BSNA for hosting a Level One course – Sunday May 15th
- GCNA, BFNL & EDNA for hosting tournaments – a great place to learn and practice our skills for our umpires
Quiz Time (all answers are in the rule book – check your answers)
- How long does a team get for injury time? 4 word answer please...
- Can a player roll the ball to themselves?
- Can a player lean on a ball in an offside area?
By the end of this month everyone in this area should know exactly what happens at Injury time.
If you have a question that you feel many people have then please forward to me and we can address in the month of May.
Umpire mentors will be at the following matches this month:
Round 6: Sandhurst V Castlemaine
Round 7: Maryborough V Golden Square
South Bendigo V Kyneton
