CVGT Rising Star Award Criteria

All clubs put forward 2 nominations from which fit the criteria of a “rising star” by the end of Round 7.

These players must be under 19 years of age at the commencement of the 2011 season.

They must have played no more than 10 senior games of football in 2010 or before.

20 players will be recognised (clubs to nominate 2 players each) as nominees and will be featured (2 per week) in the football guide, website & the Bendigo Advertiser on a weekly basis from round 10 through to Wk 1 of finals.

All nominations must be accompanied by text describing the achievements of the nominated players and the reason they have been nominated, along with a photo.

A selection panel will then determine the 6 finalists & the eventual winner, who will be presented with the award on Michelsen Medal day.

The aim of this award is to recognise our future champions and to promote their achievements.

2010 Winner

Dylan Clohsey

Dylan had a couple of games in the Senior Side last year after being promoted up from the Under 18’s. These two games gave him a clearer understanding of what ‘Senior Football’ was about. After a full pre-season with the senior group, Dylan worked hard to give himself every chance to play in the ‘Firsts’ in 2010. He gave a good account of himself in the pre-season games and was rewarded by being named in the back pocket for the game against Gisborne in Round One. In that game he was named in Flats best and has since cemented his position in the senior side.

Dylan’s hard at the ball, unselfish team play and great decision making belies his young age, with a very slight frame, his consistency has shown through with him being named in the Flats best players on six out of the eight games played so far this season.

We hope that Dylan will become one of our long-term players at Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club.
